"I absolutely love meeting people, all kinds of people. Everyone has his or her own story, and if you take the time and are genuine, those people will allow you to see it through a lens. With children, I just keep it simple, honest, and quick. I learned early on to never try 'weather talk' with kids like 'how old are you?' or 'what’s your favourite colour?' Kids can smell a phony in 10 seconds flat, and if they catch you out, it's game over. You might as well go and find someone else to point your lens at...I love that about children: there's no grey! I also adore older people: they have seen so much and have amazing stories to tell. Some of my best memories of taking portraits or photographing events are of time spent with grandparents or great aunts and uncles enjoying times with their families--just beautiful."
